Please call Visitor Services at (310) 440-7300 to make arrangements. Please call at least 28 days in advance if you would like a guided tour for your group.

You are able to cancel for a full refund up to 14 days before your visit. Cancellations within 14 days of the visit are nonrefundable.

 

Drop-off
Passenger drop-offs are permitted from vehicles carrying 15 passengers or less. Drop passengers off in the designated area located outside of the main parking structure. For safety, there is no loading or unloading on Sepulveda Boulevard.

 
Group Offerings

Architecture Tours
Groups may arrange in advance for a docent-led tour of the Getty Center's architecture. See Architecture for more information about the Getty Center site.

 

Community Group Tours
Groups that are part of a nonprofit organization may request a tour of the Museum's galleries led by a Getty Museum gallery teacher. These Community Group Tours are limited to 60 people and are available in English and Spanish. "Highlights of the Getty Museum" is a one-hour gallery tour providing an introduction to the collections as well as the general layout of the Museum. To engage adults with children, the tour is adapted to include hands-on activities in the galleries. Please note that tours require a minimum of 28 days advance booking.

For reservations call (310) 440-7300 or (310) 440-7305 TTY. Nonprofit groups are exempt from bus parking fees and must provide a valid tax ID number when calling to make the reservation.

Group Tours of Exhibitions at the Getty Research Institute
To schedule a group tour of Research Institute exhibitions, please e-mail GRIconnect@getty.edu.

 

Facilitating Groups in the Galleries
Community group leaders are encouraged to bring their groups to the Getty Museum. Please obtain an "Educator" badge before conducting group discussions in the galleries. Be prepared to show proof of valid community group affiliation, such as an identification card or business card, in order to receive an "Educator" badge.

Pick up an "Educator" badge at the security desk adjacent to the Museum Entrance Hall (staff at the round Information Desk can point the way). Please limit teaching in the galleries to groups of 15 or fewer. See our Visit Activities for lessons to use in the galleries with your group.

Picnic Area
Picnic tables are available at the Lower Tram Level (T1) and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Box Lunches for Groups
Groups can arrange for box lunches through the Getty Center catering office at (310) 440-6973.

All box lunches are self-contained in transportable, disposable bags.

Pick up lunches on the Plaza Level, in front of the Restaurant. We cannot guarantee seating for your guests. You can have lunches delivered to the picnic area, located above the parking garage at the bottom of the hill, for a $25.00 delivery fee.

Buses are not permitted to drop off their passengers without a reservation.

No walk-ins are permitted except for those arriving by public transportation. Passengers exiting at PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and Coastline Drive to visit the Getty Villa must have their Villa admission ticket hole-punched by the driver before exiting the bus in order to enter the Villa.

Getty Villa Orientation Tours
Groups may arrange in advance for a tour of the Getty Villa site and its history, renovation, and educational mission. When you make your group reservation, please inform the Visitor Services agent that you would like a tour.

Community Group Tours
Groups that are part of a nonprofit organization may request a tour of the Villa and its collections. These Community Group Tours are limited to 40 people and are available in English or Spanish. Tours are one hour in length and provide an introduction to the antiquities collection as well as the Villa architecture and gardens.

For groups with adults and children, this tour may be adapted to include hands-on activities in the galleries. Please note that tours must be booked at least 28 days in advance and are subject to availability.
