The Getty Research Institute, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, presents an afternoon of panel discussions that will focus on the design and building processes of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as the meaning of this significant structure within the fabric of downtown Los Angeles.

Both panels will be moderated by Carol McMichael Reese, Professor of Architectural and Urban History at Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. The panels will be followed by open discussion.

Deborah Borda, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the L.A. Philharmonic, Los Angeles, California.

Ernest Fleischmann, Former Managing Director of the L.A. Philharmonic, and Consultant, Los Angeles, California.

Richard Koshalek, President and CEO of Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California.

Dana Cuff, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Principal of the consulting firm Community Design Associates, Santa Monica, California.

Michael Dear, Director, Southern California Studies Center and Department of Geography, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California.

Joseph Giovannini, Architect, Architecture Critic, New York Magazine, and former Architecture and Urban Design Critic, Los Angeles Herald Examiner.
