The Terra Literature Review represents a multifaceted effort to delve beyond the core of conference proceedings and to review the broad range of studies that inform earthen architecture conservation. The aim of this effort has been to analyze strengths and weaknesses in the body of research literature, evaluate directions on which recent research has focused, and identify gaps in knowledge, to inform and encourage future research that is responsive to the needs of the field.

This literature review is designed as a supplement to the Terra Bibliography, an online resource focused on earthen architecture and its conservation.
