Conservation of the Ahichhatragarh-Nagaur Fort in India

Architect Minakshi Jain will discuss how the previously dilapidated Ahichhatragarh-Nagaur Fort in India was dramatically transformed into a stunning model for the conservation of historic sites. A recipient of UNESCO's Award for Excellence in Cultural Heritage Conservation, the Ahichhatragarh project was recognized for setting new conservation standards by combining modern scientific methods with traditional building techniques.

Da Vinci's Mona Lisa is arguably one of the most, if not the most, famous paintings in the world. Speculation about her enigmatic smile, her identify, and the paintings meaning have only increased the Mona Lisa's fame. But what does the painting look like at nanometer scale? Join Michel Menu, head of the research department at the Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France as he takes the audience on a journey of exploration below the surface of this extraordinary painting.
