Component One: Symposium
In May 2009, the GCI, the Getty Foundation and the Getty Museum will host a symposium entitled, "Facing the Challenges of Panel Paintings Conservation: Trends, Treatments and Training."

Component Two: Training and Education
The initiative will undertake a survey to better understand the nature and scope of the training and professional development needs of specialized panel paintings conservators.

Component Three: Resources
The initiative will compile or produce several resources, which will be made available online on the GCI Web site.
